You can now easily calculate your correction doses, estimate the carbohydrate content in your food and much more thanks to our interactive calculators.

Who can access the platform?

The platform is free to use, but access is currently limited to specific groups as part of a research project. To get started, simply complete a short consent form.

Support is currently available to:

  • Adults living with type 1 diabetes in Canada
  • Healthcare professionals in Canada
  • Teens aged 14-16 living with type 1 diabetes followed in the participating clinics

Is the platform free?

Yes, it’s free, but access is currently limited to a research context. You’ll need to fill out a short form to register.

Where does the information available on the platform come from?

All content is created by experts and reviewed by over 50 health care professionals and patient-partners. Only the most up to date recommendations and scientific data is used to create the content on the Support platform.

Can family members or friends of someone with type 1 diabetes use the platform?

Not currently. However, the research team is exploring the possibility of extending access to the loved ones in the future.

How is my privacy protected?

As a user of Support, your email and your password will remain private. Only the username you choose when signing up will appear if you decide to participate in discussions.

How much time do I need to spend on the platform?

There is no pressure to explore everything. You may explore the resources at your own pace. On average, it takes about 7-9 hours to go through all the content.
