1. Purpose
The Support platform (hereinafter the “Platform”) aims to provide educational and support content intended for people living with type 1 diabetes as well as healthcare professionals, for informational, training, and support purposes.
2. Access to the Platform
Access to the Platform is free of charge.
Use of the Platform implies full and unconditional acceptance of these General Terms of Use. The SUPPORT team reserves the right to modify these Terms of Use without prior notice and at any time. You are therefore required to consult these Terms of Use regularly in order to be informed of any changes. If you do not agree with any of these conditions, please do not use this website.
This website is owned by the institutions where the principal investigators of the BETTER project work, namely the Institut de Recherches Cliniques de Montréal (IRCM) and The Royal Institution for the Advancement of Learning / McGill University (McGill). It is operated as part of a scientific study and is not intended for commercial purposes.
3. Intellectual Property
All content accessible on the Platform, including in particular:
- texts, educational modules, videos, graphics, images,
- the structure of learning pathways,
- the organization and presentation of content,
is protected by applicable intellectual property laws and remains the exclusive property of IRCM and McGill, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
No intellectual property rights are transferred to the user by virtue of accessing the Platform.
4. User License
The user is granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-commercial license allowing access to the Platform’s content solely for personal, educational, and informational use.
Each user is free to use any information appearing on this website, subject to specific conditions of use that may accompany such information. Accordingly, unless otherwise stated, you have the right to view, download, and print the SUPPORT fact sheets available in PDF format for your personal and non-commercial use.
5. Prohibitions
Unless prior written authorization is obtained from IRCM and McGill, it is strictly prohibited to:
- reproduce, copy, distribute, or display all or part of the Platform’s content (except for downloadable PDF fact sheets),
- adapt, modify, translate, or create derivative works from the content or the structure of the Platform,
- use the content as part of an institutional, clinical, academic, or commercial program,
- exploit the Platform or its content for collective or organizational training purposes.
These prohibitions apply regardless of the medium or method of distribution.
Any unauthorized reproduction of the website or any part thereof for commercial purposes constitutes an infringement of the rights of IRCM and McGill.
6. Healthcare Professionals and Institutions
Access to the Platform by healthcare professionals or institutions does not confer any right to collective, institutional, or commercial use of the content.
Any institutional use, partnership, or adaptation of the program must be the subject of a separate contractual agreement.
7. Know-How and Methodology
The educational methodology, learning pathway logic, module organization, and the underlying know-how of the Platform are protected elements and may not be reproduced or adapted without express authorization.
8. Disclaimer of Warranty and Liability
Although IRCM and McGill have taken all necessary measures to verify the accuracy of the information contained on the site at the time of publication, no representation or warranty, express or implied, is provided to the user regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of such information.
Consequently, IRCM and McGill disclaim all liability with respect to the use or interpretation of the information contained on the site. Downloading or otherwise loading content displayed on the website is done solely at your own discretion and risk, and you alone are responsible for any damage to your computer system or any loss of data resulting from the download of such content.

IRCM and McGill make no representations or warranties that the information or materials to which you may have access on or through this website will be free of errors, defects, viruses, or other harmful components, that access will be uninterrupted, or that any such problems discovered will be corrected.
